This Privacy Policy explains how AOV Lab LLC (“AOV Lab,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit aovlab.com, request or view an A/B test report, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
When you request a report, contact us, or book a call, you may give us your name, email address, company or store name, store URL, and anything you choose to include in a message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our site or open a report, we and our analytics provider automatically collect usage data such as your IP address, approximate location, device and browser type, referring page, the pages and reports you view, links you click, and the dates and times of your visits. Report links may include a unique recipient identifier so we can understand whether a specific report was viewed and acted on.
Payment information
If you purchase a paid report, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We receive limited transaction details (such as confirmation, amount, and the last four digits of your card) but we do not collect or store full payment card numbers.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and deliver the Services, including generating and sending A/B test reports;
- To respond to your inquiries, schedule calls, and provide customer support;
- To process payments and fulfill paid report unlocks;
- To measure engagement and improve our content, reports, and website;
- To send service-related and, where permitted, marketing communications (you can opt out at any time);
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues; and
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Where required by law, our legal bases for processing include your consent, performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, and compliance with legal obligations.
3. Cookies & tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure usage through our analytics provider. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site functions. Where required, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers and processors that perform functions on our behalf — including analytics and measurement, payment processing, scheduling, communications, and website hosting. They are authorized to use the information only as necessary to provide services to us and are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal and safety reasons, when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of AOV Lab, our users, or others.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California (under the CCPA/CPRA) have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information — note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. Residents of the EEA and UK have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email us at andrew@aovlab.com. We will verify and respond to your request as required by applicable law.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
7. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International data transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
9. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
